As if shells had feelings...
I felt guilty tossing flawed shells back into the surf. Weathered remnants, fractured edges and barnacles deemed them unworthy. Sharing these thoughts with a close friend, she asked why they shouldn’t be collected, too. I changed my perspective and the Creator’s details of texture, form and pattern drew my eye to designs which otherwise had gone unnoticed. Now a sea-spray of spirals, rosettes and wings artistically assembled bring new appreciation to beached and beautifully broken gifts from the sea.
